How much money will I need to invest?
Our clients' range from families to business people to professional to sophisticated investors. The amount is not as important as whether we can help you achieve your goals and objectives.

Are there any upfront administrative costs?
No, You will incur no administrative fees for opening or transferring an account to MoneyWI$E Financial Inc. since we will re-imburse you for your expenses.

Do you charge any commissions?
No, We do not charge any commissions.

How do you then make your money?
The mutual fund company whose fund we sell pays us.

Do you offer zero percent commission fund purchase?
Yes, we do.

How much control do I have over my money?
You have ultimate control over your money while an experienced professional from MoneyWI$E Financial Inc. will advise you on how to maximize returns consistent with your goals. You are able to withdraw or transfer your investments at any time.

How will I know how my securities are performing?
You will receive quarterly or semi-annual transaction statements directly from the mutual fund company or the trustee showing all the activity and the value of the holdings in your portfolio. You can also call the mutual fund company, the transfer agent or trustee directly to verify and confirm your investment portfolio. MoneyWI$E Financial will also provide you with a regular update on the status of your personal financial plan so that we can monitor progress. 

How is my investment safeguarded?
In accordance with federal and provincial regulations, all mutual funds assets belong to the fund and its security holders. Moreover, the assets must be owned by a custodian, which has to be a Canadian bank or trust company. The assets are therefore protected under banking and trust laws.

What happens if the mutual fund's trustee, manager, or custodian experiences financial difficulties?
Since the assets of the mutual fund are at all times segregated from those of the fund's trustee, manager and custodian, they are not, under any circumstances, availaible for any use or purpose other than investment objectives of the mutual fund. Thus, your investment is safe.

What do others think about the level of safety in this type of investment?
Assets under administration by Canadian mutual funds continue to increase, demonstrating consumer confidence in this fast growing sector of the financial services industry.

In addition to the above-noted protections, Ontario operates contingency trust funds (of which MoneyWI$E Financial is a member) for mutual fund dealers. These contingency funds, which would be utilized in the event of bankruptcy or of dishonest behaviour resulting in bankruptcy on the part of a salesperson or mutual fund dealer organization, have never been drawn upon since their inception in the 1960s.

Are you insured?
Yes. Each year we renew our Financial Institution Bond 14 Insurance; Liability Insurance; and Errors and Omissions Insurance.

Are you a member of any industry organization?
Yes, every year we have to renew our registration with the Ontario Securities Commission - we have to present our audited financial statements and have to meet other strict guidelines before being re-registered by the OSC. We also belong to the Mutual Funds Dealer Association, the FundSERV etc.

Should I contribute to an RRSP or pay down the mortgage?
We shall evaluate each investor's position and advice accordingly.

Should I rent or own a house?
We shall evaluate each investor's position and advice accordingly.

Should I lease or own a car?
We shall evaluate each investor's position and advice accordingly.

Who do we make the cheque payable to?
Aware of possible dishonest use of funds when it is issued to an advisor, we have conciously therefore not opened a company trust account. Thus, all of our client's have to issue cheque(s) payable directly to the mutual fund company or the trustee. This eliminates possible fraud or dishonest behaviour on the part of an advisor.
